Does baytril cause diarrhea and what should I do to help the fuzlet's problem?


I have never had an issue with tummy upset from baytril but others have. Give your rat a probiotic. Something like live culture yogurt should help restore the good bacteria in the gut that the antibiotics destroyed. Just remember not to give it within 2 hours of the meds.

Okay I noticed that since taking baytril my girl has been getting rounder and rounder and she's not eating quite like she used to. Instead she'll take little nibbles then stop for several hours. Their favorite food is their crunchy delight (rolled oats, granola, dried strawberries, dried cherries, and almond slivers.) and she hasn't been eating too much. Also her poop is soft, has watery substance on it, and is foul smelling, but she hasn't be having BMs too much and I'm starting to get worried. Would plain yogurt (probiotic with live cultures) help or does she need something more?
