I have been working to help my tiny skinny girl gain some weight. She now has a tiny little tummy and looks much healthier. It is hard to see, but it is easy to tell when you pick her up. However, when I feel around her rib cage, she still feels to be scrawny. I want her body to have some reserves in case she comes down with something bad. I worry about my tiny girl a lot, so feel free to just tell me to relax a little lol.
In general, I am looking for specific guidelines for determining proper weight.

the problem is that some rats are like people, and no matter what you do, they cannot gain the weight to make a "normal" weight, or lose the excess weight, etc. It sounds like your girl is just a tiny one, and at this point just worry about keeping that tiny bit of weight on. How old is she? Has she ever been ill or is ill now?

She is somewhere between 1.5-2 years old. This is the same deaf girl I was looking for advice about spaying. She has not been sick since I got her (knock on wood). She is a healthy girl, other than her less than average senses. She weighs a whole 215g! Up from her previous 200g. I give her a slice of banana everyday to help her keep her weight up.
From what I can tell, she spends all her time hoarding food and barely any of it eating. I try to encourage her to eat as often as possible. She is always moving. She is only still when she is asleep, eating or relieving herself. Trying to take a picture of her is like trying to take a picture of the wind lol.

What types of supplements beyond some banana are you trying to keep her weight up?

I was supplementing her with some Ensure, baby cereal, banana and occasionally some yogurt. It was always a mixture, but not always included everything. I did not want her to put on too much weight or put on weight too fast on her little frame, so I started to give her just the banana again to help maintain the weight she gained. She seems to be maintaining the weight well. I posted mostly because I was wondering if she would do well to put on some more weight.

At her age don't worry about her gaining weight quickly, she probably won't.
