I have 6 weeks worth of baytril X doxy for Rosebud, and Romeo just started making nasty breathing sounds, too. I am about to burn all my money, or most of it, so I am going to just use Rosebud's meds for him for now. However, doseages?

Here's the concentrations:

baytril 136 mg
doxy 100 mg

If this sounds like a bad Idea, I can just call and get meds for him too, but meh. 6 weeks is a long time- who knows if she will need it that long, but if she does, I'll get more meds from the vet.

What does Romeo weigh?

And that is 136 and 100 mg per ml?

I believe so..that's just what's on the bottle. Doesn't say per what, but ML is what we dose by.

Romeo is 1.5 lbs.

Okay it just sounds off, as that's an incredibly high concentration. I suspect it is the mg of the pills they used to dissolve in it, I wish they said how many and in how many ml.

What dose is your girl getting and what is her approx. weight? That will help figure out if it is 136mg/ml or not.

It IS incredibly high. It's quadruple the dose we were using before, at the suggestion of a very skilled vet from WSU.

Rosebud's getting .25 ML of that stuff, she weighs a pound and it has not fluctuated lately at all. She also gets .25 of the doxy.

I trust my vet's judgement, although yes, I was concerned about how high it seemed at first. We've got nothing to go on for Rosebud anymore, whatever she has is contagious as Romeo now has it, and it won't go away.

It may be a higher dose, I just don't think it is 136mg/ml for the baytril as that would mean she is getting 34mg/lb when the normal dose is 5mg/lb, though I've personally used up to 12.5mg/llb. I think the vet used the 136mg pills, but how many and in how many ml is the question :(

If you wanted to go with a proportionate dose for your boy, since he weighs 1.5x what she does, you could give him 1.5x the dose, .375ml.
