Hi all! Just wanted to give a heads up that ALOT of Yahoo user emails have been hacked and the virus is spreading quickly! Make sure you do not open emails you are not aware of and when you do receive an email from a yahoo user with a link, make sure you know it's a real link and not the virus from your friends yahoo email account!
Unfortunately i don't think changing or updating passwords will help as i'm pretty sure its a virus within yahoo's server...just be careful!

I felt his pain as sharp as if it were my own, and wanted to reach out to him, and tried. But it was too late, who ever he is, where ever he is, I can not reach him. He's probably recovered from his grief by now anyway but I sometimes remember it. Like today as I was driving home thinking about how I have to give Lilith her baytril, fighting the exact same fight he was, but it has never ended so tragically for me as it did for him, it could so easily though. I wanted to tell him he isn't alone, that we all know how he feels.

I would honestly like to know what the appeal is of pet snakes from any pet snake owners that might be here. Why do you like snakes? I read that snakes are not capable of bonding with you like other animals are and they just recognize you as a source of food, they don't even like to be handled or pet but they put up with it. I understand they look kinda cool, they can be easy to care for and you can just put them around your neck/shoulder and just walk around like that but just why? Sounds like a pet barely worth having to me, if you want something to feed, is easy to care for and just stays there then why not get a plant or a pet rock. I have nothing against snakes in general, mostly against snake owners. I have had friends and friends of friends that were snake owners and I just did not like those kinds of people that were fascinated by snakes as pets especially when they get their jollies off of feeding them live rats and thinking it's cool to have a pet snake and watch it kill and eat something.

I've been documenting the similarities for a while now...my 2 year old daughter is a rat. She carries her food away from the plate to eat, she poops in the same corner (in a diaper of course!) and last night she carried all her dirty clothes from her hamper into her bed and made a little nest to cuddle in. Wish I would have thought to take a picture of her "nest" before I cleaned it all up lol. :D

Anyone else's offspring behave like the wrong species? I find it exceedingly adorable.

So I live in Canada and i've noticed there are many people on here that are from places all over the world, But I was wondering who lives in Canada. I like in Canada Nova Scotia Windsor, and there are not many people here you see rats as pets, or maybe i don't notice that there are many people in Canada who have rats. Anyways who lives in Canada as well and Who are your ratties? :) alsoo if there is anyone who lives in Canada or don't live in Canada but know of rat events that go on here I would love to know. My name is Briana and these are my rats Misty, Stella, and Abby. Misty is the one with the black head and Stella is the one with the white spot on her head, Abby is the baby she is a greyish brown with white belly. If any one knows what breads they are and any specials names for them I would love to know :)

This day has not been very good day for me at all. I am having one of those really bad mental health days. I feel depressed and angry at the same time. I ended up crying and screaming today, not very productive at all. I have bipolar disorder and some days are just so bad. To top all of this off I think my little hairless girl Peach may have a tumor. It is a small lump near her underside. When I noticed that I just started to cry. I just want her to be happy and healthy. There is not much I can do for her, my money is all tapped out. I can love her and cuddle her everyday. She deserves to be loved because she brings me so much joy and happiness. I love her and her sister Ladybug very much.

I'm going to the zoo with my best friend and her kids so we can sit in the grass and paint the animals. Also packing for a move, but I'm focusing more on the painting in the zoo with small children part. If it's not too hot I think I'm going to take my two most adventurous girls out into the enclosed part of our yard for a nice chilled tea party, too! :)

Hey everyone! So, this is probably really strange....but I adopted a cactus today! I saw him at a greenhouse and was reaching for a flower behind him, and then my arm got caught in his little needles. I yelped in pain- but when I saw him, it was like love at first sight. I happily brought him home and made him a temporary enclosure that's safe from my rats (or other animals) getting into. Oh yeah, and I named him Phil. I'm so excited to try my green thumb!
Has anyone else raised cacti?

Hey! I'm pretty new to this forum. I was wondering if there are any other vegans that regularly post here? I would love to connect, share recipes/restaurants/fav vegan junk food, whatever! I'd also love to discuss the relationship between owning a "pet" and being vegan, if anyone is interested. I got my two baby girls from a rescue and I feel like even though they are "pets" (or companion animals, as I prefer to call them) they needed a good home and I was happy to provide that for them. Not that there's anything wrong with breeders/pet stores for other people, I just much prefer rescue rats (or dogs, cats, etc.) I'd be interested to hear from other vegans/vegetarians on companion animals, or even friendly omnivores! :)
