How often should I feed my rats boiled chicken/tuna & fresh fruits/vegatables?
As of now I give them, boiled chicken one day and tuna the next and so on, should I cut it down to every couple of days or do exactly what I'm doing?
Fresh fruits/vegatables daily, a mix of what I have. Should I cut this down at all, or continue the daily routine?
I know rats can have mealworms and crickets, is that a treat or a daily food item?
Thanks!  Smiley

Okay so I'm researching foods and everythings says something different! Maybe I'm just roaming over it, but I don't see a sticky that tells me what to feed daily. I need something that's healthy for my rats and easy on my pocketbook. So I'm asking, what do I feed my rats?? Right now they eat Nutriphase for rats. If I give them Lab blocks (not even sure what they are yet?) will that be all they need for a staple daily diet?

Crickets and mealworms are fatty, so treats only.

Are they eating lab blocks? this is suggested.

No they aren't, but I just recently read a post and everyone was talking about them. So I'm gonna check them out and (hopefully) get some for my ratty boys. What exactly are they?

What is their staple diet? What do you leave in the cage for them all the time?

Forgot...If we start feeding them the 'Suebee's Grain Mix' from the daily diet in the sticky (which we most likely will be) would lab blocks still be required?

We feed them Nutriphase for Rats Along with boiled chicken/tuna & fresh vegatables/fruits daily, the meat/fruits/vegatables are in there for about 4 hours if uneaten I take it out. They always have the nutriphase.

Lab blocks are cubes of food, and they contain a fully balanced rat diet-although I always supplement with fresh fruit and veggies.

Some examples of lab blocks: Harlan Teklad, Pets at Home rat nuggets, Mazuri

Perhaps if you google the and find photos you may find you've spotted some before  Smiley
