Hello everyone,

Before you read the comments below. Please be patient with me. I am not good at English grammar. I'll try my best to make sure it is very clearly for you to read. Thanks

I'm new here. I DON'T have any rats. I love all animals including rats. I have two guinea pigs and one rabbit. I used to have 4 cats and one dog but all of them died. My 3 cats used to live up to 20ish years. I recently adopt 4th cat but he died one week later.. He was too old anyway. I spend over 500 dollars on vet care for him to be healthier but I decided it is time for him to go because he had long good life with his previous owners. His age is unknown but I assumed he was 18 years old. Oh well, at least I tried to make him live longer.
I'm vegetarian for 7 years now and will become vegan someday soon. When people asked me who is my hero. I told them that animals are my heroes. Right now, I want to know more about how pets can live longer, medical cares, healthy food, and everything about pets. I researched a lot to make sure my rabbit and guinea pigs stay healthy and good environment for them. I felt it isn't enough for me. I want to learn more about pets so I decide to join this forum to learn more about rats. I know a lot people hate or dislike to hold rats. I'm not one of them. In fact, I LOVE rats even through I never touch them before -_-.

I dont know what else for me to type but I guess that's all I can describe myself.

I'm looking forward to learn more about rats from you guys and gals!  Grin

I think that's all for today.. Smiley

Welcome to the forum!  I do agree that it is good to research the animal before you jump into getting them.  But when the time comes and you get your new babies you will not be disappointed!  Rats are severely underrated as pets because they're judged on false information.  They are wonderful pets...  You have to own them to really understand.

My mom was the one who suggested I get rats as pets.  I have no idea where she got the idea, but I can't thank her enough for encouraging me to get them.  We've both fallen in love and I can see myself owning rats for a long, long time.  Cheesy
