Our Puppies Update 1 month old!!! (Pic heavy)

Just thought I would share some pics of our puppies that were born today (at the exact same time Canada won gold )
Dad is a chocolate chihuahua and Mom is a small maltese....
We got two jet black pups, with small white markings on chin/chest. 1 boy, 1 girl

Both babies were breach, so I had to assist a little. First came the boy, then the girl. The boy inhaled some fluids and had to be suctioned, but they are both doing great now.










This is the little girl being born. Mom shredded her bed when she went into labour!










They are hard to take pictures of as they like to wiggle!

Yeah the mom was a rescue, shes 5 and I dont know much about her history. I rehabiliate dogs and rehome - and I just fell in love with her. Weird, I normally like the big guys, but shes so gentle and a sweety. She has a scar on her stomach, which we were told was her spay scar. Even our vet assumed. But now turns out it could be from a c-section or another operation.

The dad is my sisters chihuahua, I was looking after him as she went to visit back to England (where we origonally came from.) We must of had really bad timing, he covered her the first day of her heat. We broke them up and seperated them, and as tobey was crying so much for her and she was acting.. provocative towards him - I figured she was in heat. We assumed she wouldnt be pregnant because they are not fertile till the 12th day of their heat... but go figure. We know alot about dads history, his chocolate mom, black sister and chocolate grandmom live next door and his tan + white dad down the road 

Regardless, these pups are just the cutest things. Im totally in love with the girl, and my fiance has dabs on the boy. We are seeing how things work out as we move into our new place to figure out if we are able to keep both of them or just one. I'll get some more pics when they are a bit older, they are getting cuter everyday.

And isnt it strange that they were born as Canada won gold?  Does nobody else think that. We were literally like 'awe pup one, its a boy.' then we'ed hear 'woooo canada took gold' from upstairs then, whoosh 'a girl!'
Everyone here is saying we should call them Sidney and Crosby after the athletes that won gold, but personally I dont have a single shred of interest in the olympics (except maybe the horse part.. )
I think we should call the boy TJ (as in Tobey Junior), he has short legs like dad. And maybe call the girl something cute like Tia or Tilly

Thanks, I think we might choose Tia But waiting to see more of their personalities before we pick for sure. Hopefully we can keep them both, that would be awesome. But we already have 1 dog and 6 rats and its hard to find somewhere to rent in this town with animals. Waiting for their eyes to open so I can take some more pics.
