home remedies for ringworm

so I totally have ringworm! For those of you who dont know--its not actually caused by a worm. Its a fungal infection. I have no idea where I got it from. None of our animals show signs and no one else in the house shows signs. But its SO ITCHY..I cant stand it. I went to the doctor and she told me to mix monsitat and hydrocortizone cream and apply it 3 times a day...that was 2 weeks ago..and its doubled in size and shows no signs of stopping. Before that--I tried a few other things:
tea tree oil
alcohol
peroxide
Vagisil (an anti fungal)
Mysonex (another antifungal)
NOTHING IS WORKING. I dont go back to the doctor until the 18th of this month..and I just can't take the itching anymore! It just keeps growing..and itching, and oozing, and itching...ha..does anyone now any other home remedies that I could try..even if it just stops the itching until I get back to the doctor?

I recently had ringworm all the way up and down my thighs and it spread all over, it was red, itchy, and horrible, some people are more sensitive to ringworm then others, different immune systems etc. My boyfriend got it from me and barely broke out. I found holding ice packs to the skin amazing at stopping the itch, and don't take hot showers, it'll make the itching worse. You need to stop scratching to stop it from spreading, it sounds like you may need oral meds to fight the infection from the inside, but they do a number to your body. Its been six months and I still have small little circles of it on my thighs, a few scars and it ended up being transferred to my foot which took forever to clear up too. Make sure you don't handle your animals after scratching cause its REALLY easy to transfer, also make sure you don't share towels with anyone in the house and vacuum because apparently anything it sends off can help spread the infection

yeah its driving me nuts..Im very careful about washing my hands and stuff so..no one else (or my animals) have shown any signs of it. I go back to the doctor on the 18th if its showing no signs of improvement I'll have to ask for the oral meds (I'd like to avoid them if possible though). Ive been using alcohol and tea tree oil with the best results. I don't know if its going away but its dry and flakey with no little blisters and hasn't spread anymore and it no longer itchs. so..I'm just gonna keep using this til I get back to the dr.
this crap sucks though--it seems like its NEVER gonna go away..grr...

You could check your pharmacy for an anti-itch pray of some sort. Or a bactine spray.
