The bigger the better?

I am a new ratty owner and I was wondering if you can have a cage that is too big.
Right now I have one little girl named Remy, and she is in a 10 gallon tank till I can find her something more suitable.

Would something like this be too big for her?
If I needed to I could get another ratty to keep with her (which I plan on doing sometime soon anyway)

Well for sure get another rat, they need friends. Also check out the rat cage calculator sticky. This will help you determine if the cage is big enough for two.

No, you can never have a cage that's too big.  I have one rat in a double Ferret Nation right now, that's suitable for up to 10 rats.  The more space, the better. 

However like AMJ said, she will need a friend.  The cage you buy should at least be suitable for two rats, preferably more.  Two square feet each is the bare minimum for each rat, but a lot more is preferred.   The cage calculators are only so accurate because they can't take into account extra levels, shelves, space taken up by toys, wasted space, etc. but they give a good estimate
