I need some advice from anyone who has bought a used car on a loan.

I can pay (ideally) about $200 a month on a loan, have about $1,000 down payment + a $1,000 trade in. I'm looking at cars at around $6-$10k (10 being the highest). I'm going to shop around for interest rates & hopefully get a pretty good one (average around here is 5.75%, I'm hoping to get 6% AT LEAST, I'm only 20 years old so I don't have an extensive credit history but have been very good about payments on bills, never missed one.)

I guess I just need some general advice about getting a car! (Aside from "don't get a loan on a car", it's necessary for me to get a new car.) I bought my first car with cash & have never gotten a loan before.

I'm considering getting a small SUV (would be the best size for my animals & for photoshoots, plus they're just so professional looking). The three I've been smitten with are the Toyota Rav4, Honda CRV, & Kia Sorento. Any experience with these or any other experiences with small SUVs?

Any advice would be very helpful.  Thank you!

I used to have a Honda CR-V.  I think hands down it was the best all around car I owned. Reliable, good on gas mileage, fun and comfortable to drive, lots of room. I may just be biased but I think Hondas are some of the most reliable cars out there anyways.  I'd go for that!
