Re: my friends babys
Um, well, there is a chance she could foster the babies if they are still nursing, but I'm sure she would be much more comfortable with her own cage to have her babies in.

Re: my friends babys
I would think Mamma rat would try to protect her babies, resulting in a fight. Probably not a great idea. But you should wait for more experienced members to answer, I could be wrong.

Re: my friends babys
let me see if I read this correctly
you believe your rat is pregnant ( I recall that this hasn't been confirmed as of yet) & you want to put her in a cage with your friend's rat that has a new litter?... meaning with a rat she is not housed with & socilialized with?
Bad idea... REALLY bad idea
if I read this wrong please come back & explain what it is you are asking with a bit more detail

Re: my friends babys
A few things could happen...the females may break out into a full on fight as the mother trys to protect her new litter from the strange intruder, the other female may eat the babies in hopes of retaining dominance and only allowing her litter to survive, the mother may eat her young as a response to being threatened by the newcommer, and the last, but least likely to happen would be they would be fine together......I'd say keep them seperate..why take that chance? ya know......
Hope that helped some
