Found one of my boys sleeping on his back, he looked like a dead ferret. Nearly gave me a heart attack.
Can rats get sleep paralysis? Cause when i moved him he stayed asleep until he got stomped on by his cagemates.

I hate it when they do that, I get enough near heart-attacks without sleeping rats adding to it
No clue about sleep paralysis (although I imagine they can) but I think they just evolved to be really heavy sleepers since they have other rats stomping on them all the time. I have a few older boys I sometimes have to pick up and shake to wake them up.

Lol holy cow, Little G our big male dumbo is a deep sleeper as well. I often have to reach in a pick him up. When we wakes up he looks at me for a minute going "and what do you want??" LOLOriginally Posted by wheeljack
