Thread: Scratch on Rarity's back?

    Default Scratch on Rarity's back?

I just noticed a scratch on Rarity's back (like two scratches right next to each other) and I am not sure what it is from. I am assuming she scratched herself with her nails? so I am going to clip them today. I didn't find anything in the cage that would have done it. Is there anything I can put on it or anything? Anything else I should do? It's pretty small I guess, and probably isn't hurting her or at least not much...but I just worry about my girls a lot and don't want anything happening to her. Thanks!

If you have a nakie, you are going to totally have to get used to a lot more scratches then this. They have no fur protecting them and this is very normal. I would assume a cagemate climbed over her and unintentionally scratched her...good thing these little things don't bother your girl.

double rex, genetic hairless = nakie...nice uniform term to indicate a rat has little to no hair on their body.

Ohhhh okay! I usually don't think of her as nakie, I call her my fuzzy..because she isn't so much naked as just fuzzy except when she gets little baldy DR patches but she's still very young so she doesn't get any but right on her head. I didn't know people referred to them as nakies too. Well you learn something new everyday! Thanks!
