I just received my second female rat, Bellatrix, who is the sister to my first rat Andromeda and Andromeda keeps nipping Bellatrix's ears and chasing her out of the box. Is this a sign of dominance and for my affection?

Andromeda's Human
<3 Andromeda and Bellatrix are my ratties <3
How long had they been separated?
Mom to Phineas & Ferb (rattie brothers) Joan & Jett (glam guinea pigs)
Hope & Bodhi (criminal kitties) Winston (pit bull/mastiff rescue lover boy) Rocky (betta buddy)
Safi & Nixi (bipedal darlings, both diagnosed with Classic Autism and the true animal whisperers)
Two months at the most.

Ok, so for all intents and purposes, after being separated that long (or even a little less) they are like strangers to each other and I suggest you proceed as though they arent related and youre introducing two unrelated rats.

Rats can recognize people for far longer than two months, and likely can recognize each other, but this isn't the issue. Dominence fights are normal even between siblings... So it doesn't matter whether they recognize each other, they have to establish order in their new pack
My rat is smarter than your honor student.
