Thank you everyone! I do miss Bindi, she had the funniest ways of sleeping.
Here in Hawaii there aren't any registered breeders. If shipping wasn't so stressful for a rat or expensive for the owner, I wouldn't hesitate to adopt from from a breeder. I've been looking for quite a while for pet rats on places like Craigslist, and I was lucky enough to get Lyra (two other owners didn't work out, one decided to keep her rats and the other adopted it out before I could). I've checked the humane society many times, with no rats there.
I got Bindi from a Petco, and will probably look to stores to getting a rat or two. I know it's not the best place.
As for pictures, I take them all with my phone camera (can't find my camera ><) so usually the pictures suck. I'll have to dig around my room for my camera. But here is the best pictures I have in terms of lighting, I hope it helps:
Mink would be so cool! I've seen a lot of black and brown hooded rats and even a few siamese (or were they himalayan?), but never a rat like Lyra!
