Pink Eeper
Hi!
Hello, been lurking through the threads for a couple days to learn more, but now I've finally been able to register I wanted to introduce myself! I'm 24 from Wisconsin and currently work at a hotel full time.
My sister had two male hooded rats when we were in high school, William and Harry. They were wonderful, and definitely lived up to their names! Harry is my current profile pic. Unfortunately, they both passed away due to old age about 3-4 years ago.
I've been wanting to have them again for a while, so for my birthday last week, my boyfriend bought me a new pair of baby boys from the shelter! We now have an albino, Pinky, and a black hooded, Brain. They have been adjusting quite well. It took us a while to get the cage set up, but it looks pretty fantastic now! We got them a ton of toys last night. I'm working on getting a homemade diet together (which means the rats will be eating better than us haha!), and getting them to be better socialized. The shelter said they were less than a year old, but they seem way bigger to me and less active? I'm taking them to the vet soon to see if they know better. But either way, I'm very happy to have fur babies again
Josh, my boyfriend, works from home, so they will be his new co-workers. Otherwise, we are both big geeks, very into video games and D & D so Pinky and Brain will definitely observe our crazy game nights! Hoping to meet new friends here and learn a lot more about taking care of the new babies. Already spent an hour at the grocery store last night in the bulk food section looking for stuff to put in their mix. I dread to think how nutty I'd be with a real baby

Hahaha. That sounds just like me.Welcome to the forums. Lots of "stickies" at the top of each forum for food mixes and such. I use all the info here to spoil my babies too.
