O.P.'s sneezing hasn't subsided, I was thinking it was just stress Butttt, he sneezes a lot EVERY time i take him out, he never ever sneezes when hes alone, only when i take him out of his cage, I haven't tried other kinds of bedding though could that be the problem? Also, every day he wakes up with circles of discharge around his eyes, I was thinking that it may be normal because hes hairless, but then that doesn't quite make sense to me either :s I'm confused :s

Myco tends to flare up with stress, which leaves them susceptible to secondary infections and other nasty things. I would recommend taking him to your vet and have a talk about antibiotics or whatnot.

You could also try doing what you can to minimize stress in the meantime.

If the sneezing seems bad, or there is wheezing involved, a steam bath can help. Just run your shower as hot as it goes and place the cage in there with the door shut. Usually, about 10 minutes will do wonders.

Let us know how the vet visit goes! Good luck!

He may not be used to EVER getting out of his cage, so I'm sure there's all sorts of new smells and a bit of stress there for him. If he doesn't sneeze while in the cage, I doubt it's the bedding. :?

You present a good point there forensic, I hardly doubt he was let free range But i know he was definately handled, hes a cuddle butt, absolutely adores it, and I hope to god everything turns out good and I can get him a friend, because if he has something thats catchable i don't want to give it to a new rat, plus I'm supposed to adopt him a little buddy from lerat in a few weeks, I couldn't possibly adopt a rat from her and allow it to get sick :( anyway, heres hoping that all turns out well, he will be seeing a vet in the middle of this week.

Well, you would need to do the proper QT anyway... so I don't see why you could still adopt? Just follow all the tips on the forum.

i know i would still have to do a quarantine, thats not what my worry is, my worry is that O.P. will pass something on to an otherwise healthy rat... Like I don't want to adopt a rat have it go through quarantine, find out that its perfectly healthy, and stick it with O.P. if O.P. isn't healthy himself.

Well, if you're taking him to the vet, you'll be able to see if he has anything catching. Most things that are catching are treatable. And three weeks of QT should be time for OP to get over whatever he has, if anything. If it's myco, he can't really give it to the new rat, they've already got it.
