Well, then be it that they appreciate what I have to say and not my physical traits and if they aren't happy that I'm female, that's easy enough to turn to friendship.

And if you mean that someone might not take an interest who would have otherwise... I'm not delving a rat forum looking for love ;)

But to go back to the topic of this post I think it would be very cool and smart to be able to show age and gender if the member wants to. :)

Yea that would be a big help to at least put our gender down. Ratman could you please take a look at the post in rats needing homes called "2,B,Greenwood, Indiana, USA" A perfect exsample of a gender mistake.... :) .... my vote is in

but why does gender matter? does it really make that big a difference to be called he when you're a she or she when you're a he. what difference does it make. no one knows through typing that you are a he or a she and as this is not a dating service i just don't see the point.

I agree. Gender does not matter to me.

Yes, I may accidently say 'she said' when I'm speaking about a male, but everyone on the internet ought to realize that we can't see through the computer to tell gender. :)
