i have a few pumice things in her cage but she mostly just likes to eat them.. apparently. she does scuttle over them too but idk. they're much longer than they were when i first got her and her sister. idk if you're supposed to trim their nails? i just wouldn't want her to snag on something or get injured :c
being a new rat mom is stressful lol

Awwww the cuteness!!!😆😘💕🐭I have always found rats to take care of their own nails by biting them off themselves so I have had no experience off trimming them,I know people that show rats usually do. When I had a hamster I used to trim her nails with her stood on a wire cooling rack.I lifted her above me and the long nails poked through and I trimmed the ends off with some plier type nail nippers.

They look just fine to me! As far as them getting snagged, just make sure that there is nothing in the cage they can get snagged on. You can trim their nails but it’s not necessary like cats and dogs. Emiology and a few other YouTubers have good videos on how to trim their nails, but just make sure it’s not too stressful for them. I only trim one of my rats nails, the other boys get so stressed out it’s just not worth it. :)
