I recently got 2 boys from a rescue. They were at their foster home for around 6-8 months I believe. They came from a hoarding situation and all had respiratory problems. One still has odd breathing but is healthy, the other is fine. My main problem is with their coats. They are really balding (not rexs' or hairless). Their coats are just really thin and kind of rough. You can see their skin. They also have lice - but I'm getting the medication to deal with that today. Any suggestions? Any way to moisturize their fur? I'm sure that it's not going to suddenly grow back in - but I'd like to make them as comfortable as possible. Thanks.

Get rid of the parasites and get them on a good diet and the fur should fill in by itself. It will also likely return to a softer state.

You could give them some bread with olive oil or a little avocado as well, but the parasites are likely the main cause of all the issues, the scratching, the thinning hair, the dry skin, and the rough fur.
