I got a really big cage today for free from someone who didn't need it anymore. The dimensions are 3' x 2' x 4' and it has 2 levels. I can't wait to start decorating it and adding hammocks and all, but I do have one concern. The cage is actually made for ferrets, so the bar spacing is quite large. I'm sure this has been asked before, but is 1" too big? It doesn't appear as though they'd be able to escape but I know they are tricky little guys :p. Thanks

it would depend on how big the boys actually are. my 13 wk old boys would probably be ok in a cage with 1" spacing. one of my girls aged about 6 months is very small compared to the other females i have, yet she has made absolutely no attempt to get out of the ferret cage in which they live. the best way to find out is to put your boys in the cage for a good couple of hours to see if they do make any attempts to escape.
