So I noticed one of my girls had poop coating a good bit of her tail the other day. I know rats are generally very clean animals, so I'm a little nervous. I had to gently scrape it off with a wet paper towel and she was not happy.
My question is, can I use a soap on my girls fur and tails? Something like dawn, the company that uses their dish soap on animals who are victims of oil spills. Or even plain liquid dial, non scented antibacterial hand soap.

I only ever use oatmeal based baby soap for my bubs, I'm too scared to use anything else. I suggest it though, it's soothing and doesn't smell strongly.

Just use a gentle soap like baby soap or something. I use Dr.Bronner's Liquid Castile soap on my rats if they're super gross and need a bath... I did use dawn once and it didn't seem to irritate them.
I wouldn't use dial soap on them, that stuff burns my skin and I think rats are more sensitive than us.

Is that something I can get anywhere? Is it fairly cheap? Or is it organic...?
You can get it at the dollar store! Or Walmart, or the drugstore. Anywhere really
