One of my young rats is much more docile and calm, and much more willing to take long naps in my sleeve, than my other rats. She has ruby eyes, and seems to have very poor vision--lots of head weaving, for example. Has anyone noticed a relationship between poor eyesight and willingness to sit still?

When my pink eyed boy was younger I did notice he was more timid, but then as he's grown up and become more used to his surroundings he's just as adventurous as my other 5! Although I have only owed one pink-eyed rat before, I reckon it's more of a trust thing than a behavioural trait. It could just be that she is a bit of a lazy rat as well!

Interesting, thanks! I'm going to call it laziness in mine, rather than trust/comfort. It's pretty adorable--I enjoy all the lap time.
