I just checked on my ratties and my baby rat has a big chunk missing out of her ear!! OMG I dont get it. Do I need to do anything to treat this bite? Will her ear grow back normally? Its a good size chunk and she is only 6 and a half weeks old. Thanks for any help on this.

Clean it clean, maybe put a little neosporin on it. Else I don't think there's much you can do. The ear will probably heal with a dent in it.

Perhaps watch the kids and make sure they aren't playing to rough. :?

Yeah last night while I was sleeping they must have had a scuffle.

Her ear will always have a little notch in it. A lot of rats have that, so just clean it, treat it and leave it.

My rat has little notch in it from when he was very young....it's actually kind of cute....your at should be fine

Wait til you see your first toe injury. Toes, tails and ears bleed like nothing you have ever seen. The next day there's a tiny cut. :roll:
