While we were cuddling today I noticed Cleo has some blue spots on her tail. At first I thought the fleece or something in the cage had bled color onto her or something (though I've never seen it do that before) but she doesn't have blue anywhere else and neither does the other rat Roxy. She's acting normally and her tail doesn't seem to be hurt or the skin damaged.

I tried to take a picture but my phone camera isn't great and my actual camera is charging still.

What is this? Just veins and such showing through? It's worrisome. I've read rats regulate temperature through their tails...is it maybe too cold?

DO you have any chew toys that could of gotten water on it and bled the color onto her?

may be just some dirt or dye from a toy or something, try using a baby wipe or a warm wash cloth and wipe it off to see if it goes away

Looks like dye to me. I've been noticing green spots on one of my girls' tails. I think it bled from a green chew block!
