Blue Window Textile Wood Pet supply

Hi! I have two male rats housed in the cage pictured above. I made a stupid decision by investing on this one when there were better options, however now I’m worried that it is too small in floorspace for my boys. I let them free roam for an hour almost every day, but I need some advice. I spent so much on this cage and as a younger rat owner, I am still paying it off. If this cage is in fact too small, how on earth do I sell it and find a new one? Help!

The cage looks fine, IMO. Yes, not a lot of floor space but the vertical space makes up for it. And you say your rats have free roam time daily which is good.

If you feel the rats need a bigger cage, you can sell this old one on various places like FB Marketplace or on pet forums / groups. There's a Classified section on this forum but I don't think many people use it.

I'd get a bigger cage first and move the rats in so you can empty out the old cage and clean it out to sell. Look for used cages other people are selling or giving away for free on FB Marketplace, Freecycle, Buy Nothing, yard sales, etc.

unfortunately rat cage calculators aren't reliable!! and vertical space doesn't make up for floor space. however since you're in the US, check facebook market place, craigslist, etc to see if someone's selling a used critter nation! you can just get a single and they're usually pretty cheap second hand
