I’m severely immunocompromised due to a treatment I’m in that kills all of my b-cells, and am about to get back from a trip to get some medical treatment in another province. My best friend was watching my rats while I was away, and he just tested positive for covid. I’m one of the people who is at risk of severe illness or even death if I contract it, so now I’m not sure how long I should wait before snuggling up to my ratty boys.

Can they get it, and can they spread it? I’m finding conflicting info online, and all I want is to cuddle them when I get home today!

I think the odds of your rats having Covid is very very low. The virus doesn't easily jump from species. But you can just wait 5 days and be safe, as hard as it is. Better for you be safe my dear!
