Is it okay for rats to have caramel? I wouldn't be feeding it to Jojo often only twice a day and only a little piece. He really doesn't like the doxy so I am trying to find ways of getting him to take it. Since I am making caramel for my family tomorrow I was thinking I could use some of that. This is the recipe if it helps any: (I wouldn't be adding the cinnamon chips or using anything to replace them) http://www.culinaryconcoctionsbypeabody.com/2014/10/05/apple-cider-cinnamon-chip-caramels/

Although I'm sure most people will try anything sugary to get their rats to take medicine, I'm not sure caramel would be very good as it's quite sticky and could cause him to choke if it got stuck in his throat? Have you tried something like yoghurt? Or baby dessert foods?

I've tried a few things but the problem is he is really smart D: he easily learns if something has been tampered with after the first try.
