Is CareFresh safe?

When I got Grizz the lady wouldn't sell me CareFresh as she said it was too dusty for their respiratory systems. I'd always used it before, but I stopped after that. But after reading some things on this forum, it sounds like maybe it is safe? I mean it's horribly messy because Madam Curie used to chuck it out of the cage when she was feeling squirrely, but it might be nice to use that rather than fleece for clean-up reasons if I can.

I've used CareFresh before as well. I've also seen a CareFresh "Shavings Plus" which should be avoided as it is mainly shredded softwood with some paper based bedding. The paper based CareFresh is fine however. Yes, it can be dusty and if a rat seems to be sensitive to the bedding I'd use something else. The Ultra is less dusty than the plain CareFresh. When I've got rats with current respiratory issues I'll use something like Eco-Bedding which is nearly dust free.
