My 1.5 year old rat recently started chewing cords when he is out. I have a designated space for out time with lots of toys, but he goes for the cords every time. I've hidden the cords the best I can. This is a new behavior and I don't know what's causing it. I make toys for him and the other two and change their cage around regularly. I don't just interact with him when he chews on the cords, but the space with the cords is the only place I can let them out to run around.

I don't know what to do. He hasn't acted like this before.

Some rats are chewers unfortunately!
All you can do is move them out of reach completely, try covering them up with something like furniture or taping them to the walls?
