I always thought chocolate was bad for rats. My girls have never had it. But i've been looking through rat treat recipes (for the Holidays) and several have chocolate in them :? I'm puzzled. Can rats have chocolate? Is it just cats and dogs that it's unhealthy for? I know the mice in my BF's house manage to crack into any chocolate candy that's laying around and take off with it...but i've always felt bad thinking i might have killed them :(

ive heard chocolate helps slightly with respritory issues (the darker the better) ozzy was sneezing more than usual and had a wet nose and poryphin so i gave her a chocolate chip and it's gone now (im not saying it's an alternative to the vet, i was probably just being paranoid) and i told myselff if it wasn't gone a few days after that i'd ask my parents to go to the vet, but, it's gone
