i was just wondering whether real christmas trees would have a negative impact on my rats health. i'm not sure whether christmas trees are usually pine or not, but if they are (or if spruce/fir are bad for ratties), should i be concerned?

christmas trees are pine & so long as you aren't keeping there cages under the tree or right next to it I don't think there should be a problem at all

Christmas trees are usually Pine, Spruce or Balsam Fir.

I would say if the rat cages are in another room you should be fine. For eg. last year I had a Rat Friendly Christmas Tree (spruce) that the rats looooved, and had no problems with respiratory issues with my rats.

I will be doing it again this year for sure!

Look carefully for Bronny
