My boyfriend has had a high fever all weekend and has stayed with us as he prefers our home to his house.

I let Jake and the girls out at seperate intervals and each one took a few sniffs, crawled around him and then settled down in the crooks of his arms or neck and licked him furiously when he scritched them.

It was just so adorable and so amazing(to me) that I didn't think to get the camera. But it's just wonderfully amazing how animals do that. Even hyperactive Acid settled down for a while on his neck. Olmost brought me to tears.

And of course my boyfriend just loved that, he LOVES my rats.

ha, that's cute. animals are amazing creatures. there's a tiny little italian greyhound named jackson who literally prances through the mall i work at with his mommy. he's a little seizure alert dog! do be careful though, if your boy has the coughs and sneezes and such, as you can get your poor little ratty babies sick too.

That's so sweet! They are so understanding. I'm sick a lot, and the rats seem to know to be more cuddlebugs and less hyper. And if you're having a bad day, they seem to know.

do be careful though, if your boy has the coughs and sneezes and such, as you can get your poor little ratty babies sick too.

Actually, there are very few illnesses are transmittable from humans to rats, the one to watch for is strep throat. I was paranoid for a long time, because I'm prone to pneumonia. Was glad to learn they couldn't catch "human pneumonia". Still, though, if he may have strep, keeping the rats away isn't a bad idea. Just wanted to throw that out there.

I know this is really late, but it turned out he had come down with an ear infection in both ears....ow.

Yeah I think all animals are sweet, especially when someone is sick. I read that when one rat is sick, the other rats will take care of him or her. Your babies are adorable. It's good your bf wasn't sick for long. I would get it on tape the next time it happens, if you haven't already.
