My precious, wonderful ratties seem to have developed a love for chewing my computer wires. I really don't want to have to restrict their roaming space... and I love having them on my desk when I'm working...

Any rat-safe ideas on how to cover/protect the wires?

you can get a PVC pipe for pretty cheap and thread all your wires through it, i suppose. you can also get bends for the pipe so it can fit around your desk better or whatnot. then you only have to keep ratties away from the ends where the wires poke out. you can also try a "bitter apple", "bitter orange", or "nature's miracle" spray, which makes stuff taste horrid.

i've found that rats freakin LOVE wires, of any kind. ridonkulous. :D

ha, i don't think that anything is "chew-proof" with rats, lol. but honestly, i think they *do* have some like, aluminum-sided tape, or tape that has a wire mesh inside, that might help.

I heard somewhere that you can tape down your wires with duct tape because rats don't like the sticky texture on their teeth/mouth.
I'd try the bitter apple, though.

I like the PVC pipe idea... maybe sealed up with duct tape.

I wish that duct tape didn't leave that sticky residue...
