My rat only has 4 fingers on her front paws and no thumb, my mom wanted to know if this is normal. Anyway, sorry for asking so many question.

They aren't apes - they don't have opposable thumbs. Probably why they are still rats. When your rat writes "please yogies" on the side of the cage with a turd.... be very very afraid.
