How do you de-worm a rat? I got Harriet from a pet store two day ago from a bad cold tank where she was by herself. She is 4 - 5 months old, underweight and her coat is dull. When I take her out she walks over me, is active but in her cage she is quiet and choosing to sleep on the glass bottom of the temporary tank while she has a cozy oatmeal box filled with fleece pieces.
Her appetite is not that good but that could be the change in her environment.
She is on regal Rat, Total cereal, and all kinds of fruit, chicken bone etc.
Would de-worming her help her and how do you do it: administering, type of medicine etc. All ideas are greatly appreciated.

Sounds like bad nutrition etc. I wouldn't worry about de-worming since its not that common to affect them like that. Keep an eye on her breathing and overall activity level, etc for signs of illness.

give her lots of veggies, baby cereal, things like that to give her more nutrients. Watch to make sure she is eating the Regal Rat as some rats will lose weight on it since they don't like it much.
