I've been scouring the Internet and bombarding my local pet store with questions, but I can't find a cage made locally that would not kill me with duties and shipping. I need help, I live in Canada and it seems like nothing is here, I have no way of making it into a big city pet store like Petsmart or anything that might have something like a FN.

I am seriously considering buying a Parrot cage and just renovating the **** out of it but they are around 200$ each or up. The pet store here has something like a “My first Cage” however the wires seem large and I am not sure how I feel about the plastic floors, as I have set up one cage like it before and seen how annoying they are to remove and pop back in.

I’d like a cage that has easy access that is relatively easy to clean. Does any one have any recommendations that would be easily available to Canadian citizens, thank you.

yeah, make your own. i finished mine this weekend, i live in ontatirio, and i couldnt find jack-all for good cages. there was the "my first pet" cages like you said, but they were absurdly expensive..

i made my cage, which is about 10+cubic ft for a little over $50can and a few days or so of my time. seems to work great, and was about 60% cheaper than a manufactured cage. have a look in my thread to see what i did there, maybe get an idea.

I believe I saw that, the wood with plaid cover, right ;D
It looks really good if that's the one, I think I may go to the hardware store and see if I can find some good wire and just do that too. It seems like a cheap path to take thanks for the reply.

and on a side note; you're girls sure are cuties, what are their names?

Grey one is Toodles, the white and black is Noodles, the oldest.

they seem to really enjoy the cage, ive added some chew toys and some more boxes and things in, filled out nicely.

yes, the one you saw was mine. i went over to home depot and picked up 1/2" spaced wire, i think it was in the hardware section. a 10ft, 24" roll was about 27$ i think. the wood was just cheapy stuff, they sell it for something like 98cents for an 8foot piece. used about 5 or 6 of those, and the base was coated plywood for around $7. add on the cost of plaid material, and it should only be the $50-60 or so for the whole thing.

i was in the pet shop today, and saw a cage for $99. it was fairly big, but mine was bigger and better, so im pleased i made it. the only problem is that its tough to have in my room! takes up a lot of space and blocks my tv.. *sigh* the price we pay for our little ones.. lol
