What kind of disinfectants do you use in your Rat laundry? I've been just using Hypoallergenic soap and the Hammocks still smell of Pee. And what temperature wash and dry do you use?

I use just a small amount of regular laundry detergent, with hot water, on the smallest setting, and I add about a cup/cup and a half of baking soda. It woks well for me, and I do my ferrets' and rats' bedding together. That a lot of funk to take care of. lol

I do the same really - regular detergent on a quick wash at a moderate temp (around 30 or 40)... If you find them stinky maybe soaking them before you wash may help

I was more worried about how to kill the bacteria, which can effect Resp. problems.

Washing in hot water will kill any bacteria.

I add 1 cup vinegar to my wash. It helps to take care of smells. Works great on human laundry, too-no more stinky armpits!

i just chuck the rat bedding in with my normal wash, they havent complained yet...

before I wash my rat bedding I soak everything in nappy san and warm water, and leave that to soak for a few hours before washing
