Just a tip incase you hadnt thought of it.
On a sunday i cook up a batch of chicken, broccoli, sweetcorn and potato [at same time of sunday lunch] and mash together then put portions into deep icecube trays and freeze.
Then each day i take out 2 cubes and leave to thaw and then youve got the perfect fresh ideal portion sized meal for 2 ratties.
each cube tray holds 16 cube so youve got plenty for 2 weeks for two rats based on one portion every other day.

I also do this with cooked pasta twirls and tuna and sweetcorn mashed up.
mine got mad for them.

Also in the summer i mash 2 bannanas,4 table spoons of flavoured yogurt
and finely diced apple for crunch. freeze the portions in icecube trays and they make a yummy creams icelolly for the boobars..

I do this (freeze) the babyfood desserts I use to give the ratties their meds, as it has quite a short shelf life once the jar is opened.

I just defrost as needed.

I might just try your 'tv dinners for rats' idea ;)

EDIT - Is it fed in addition to regular food?

I do the same thing. I just change up the ingredients every week to add variety and add things daily depending what were eating ourselves. Makes things very nice and easy. The summer mash sounds yummy. Im gonna have to remember that:)
