I adopted my youngest when she was 5 weeks, breeder told me she was "probably a double rex" (I believe one of her rattie parents were Rex, maybe both. I do know one in the litter was agouti). I thought it was strange she still had so much hair, but breed wasn't important to me. Now at 4.5 months, I'm pretty positive she is not a double Rex!

So my question is, does she look like a standard Rex? I don't have any experience with them, my older girls are both hooded fancy rats!

First picture was her shortly after I brought her home, second and third pictures were last night

We have a silky rex and we've had a wirey rex and one who's tight curls went completely straight after a few weeks, some folks call this a bad rex.. The only commonality between the very course curls and the poofy (powder puff) fur and the rex with straight hair, was that they all had curly whiskers.

Unless you are looking to breed your rat, it really doesn't matter what the genetics are.
