Corn does contribute to cancer in rats and humans. When corn is growing and processing it gets this mold on it that we can't see. The mold produces a chemical that is a carcinogen... the way we generally prepare corn makes it safer for us but doesn't completely eliminate that. The level that is safe for us is not safe for rats so avoid corn period. I can't say much I have a corn based rat pellet but you can't win all battles.
