So my mischievous ratty today started to try to groom my face.. so i let him go, and he bit my ear, very hard.. so i told him no and picked him up and put him somewhere else ... well a little later i wasn't paying attention and he did it again! and so i squeaked at him told him no .. put him down somewhere else .. and finally took off my earrings .. come to find out he's made it bleed =( .. and then i took him out just a few minutes ago and he did it again! and i didn't have my earrings on or anything.. so i don't know how to let him know that this is not ok - i don't wanna discourage cute grooming but my ear hurts!

Squeak at him to tell him he's hurting you and move him away. For some reason many rats are fascinated by ears and toes and such and seek to bite them.
