Hello all,

Because my boys love to chew things, I put in one of those very stiff cardboard rolls (from a Saran Wrap) in their cage.

They did love it, but I noticed Ollie eating some of the paper from it. Is that dangerous? I thought he would just chew it and spit it out, but he was actually eating it as if it was chocolate!

I took the roll out, but they're disappointed...

Is there a danger? I figure not...because I would think that he would realize it just isn't that tasty, but then again... maybe he's not as smart as I had hoped! ;)

It's not dangerous. I heard rats actually eat paper when they have an upset stomach. But it really doesn't cause any harm.

Thank you, Beth. My boys will be grateful to you when I get home and put the tube back in. ;)
