I put some tissues in my rats igloo so they could use them so burrow up in, but one of my rats, Pixie, keeps trying to eat the tissues...

I wondered if that is bad for her? I took all of the tissues I could find out of their igloo until I find out why shes eating them and if its dangerous for her digestive sytem.

Thanks.

I wouldn't give them tissues. I would give them fleece or flannel. My one rat loves to borrow in fleece and flannel. We have a basket in the cage and she loves to be a homemaker and borrow or make the bed or even just hide underneath from the 8 month old who likes to bother her.

I've been known to give them toilet paper (as it dissolves and isn't likely to cause obstructions) and they've always seemed fine.

But I'm going to start using cut up bed sheet strips, to see how they get on with those. Maybe that would be an idea if you have any old sheets lying around?
