Once rats are past their baby stage, I usually say about 12 weeks, they don't really need that much protein any more. It can be harmful to them if they are given too much! I usually only give it as a treat once every now and then. Maybe once a month :) they get a whole egg including the yolk either hard boiled or scrambled.

What foods are good to give. I normally give orange,red or yellow peppers, grapes, frozen peas, raspberries, Apple, spinach, carrots.
