(I wasn't sure where to put this, sorry!)

Egor seems to be doing better. A few nights ago there was a scare when the lumb growing out of a hole in his tail broke off. It was bleeding pretty badly so I put on some gloves (just incase) and did my best to take him out without it being to terrifying. I was scared, I think he could sense it because he was being alot of trouble. Squirming and what not. So I just focused and calmed myself, then he did as well. :) I cleaned the wound and put some dressing on it, thankfully it stopped bleeding after my shirt was basically covered. Egor just layed between my arm and stomach as I stroked him. It was really nice and It was a great feeling, to have a rescue feeling so safe and relaxed with me. :D

He has been playing with his toys. He likes to drag things around his cage. Sometimes he gets hyper and bounces around, which looks funny because of his limp. I havn't tried to hold him since the incident with his tail, I've just been going up to the bars and talking to him. I have all next week to get him ready for his vet appointment. I wan't him to get used to be handled so he won't be as stressed.

I havn't really gotten to know Egor's true personality yet, but I have never felt the connection I have with him with any other rat. When he was resting in my arms and I was petting him...all my troubles just went away. Is that weird to feel that way about a rat? The only other time i've felt that is with a horse.

that's not weird at all. i love that feeling with my pets. they are just so happy and content tis hard to believe there could be anything wrong in the world nd you get sucked down into the peacefulness they offer. i usally end up falling asleep soon after though so maybe its not so good to be that peaceful...
