Buying my boys this weekend (Dad's going with me, despite being squeamish)...

So now I'm rather desperate to find a cage that will be good for them, but still not cost me and arm and a leg, and fit in my dorm room/be able to be put away on weekends.

I went and looked at the pet stores today, and found a few possibilities, mainly in the bird cage isle... (I'm rather handy, so I'm not afraid of making my own ramps/hammocks/etc.)

I liked this one:

... and they had a slightly larger version with "thicker" bars that felt much sturdier. It has a wire floor, but I opened it up and took it out while it was sitting there. I also like that I can open the one big door (it's almost the full width of the cage) or the small doors to let the stinkers come out and play.

This one was also alright. Couldn't get the floor out in-store, but it's just held in place by little plastic clips...

*Shrugs*

I'm going crazy over this, lol.

Of those two, I would go with the first one (Avian Select Deluxe Teardrop Small Parrot Home) simply because it has more space. How much are you looking to spend? Are Martin's cages not an option?

No, not really. I can't wait to order one and the way their doors open is a problem for me (I have really bad carpal tunnel and arthritis... )

But I really did like that first one when I saw it in the store (it was a squared-off version of it)... I think I'm gonna go with it.
