I live in the Cincinnati, Ohio area and I am in search of a vet for my new rat family. I want a vet who follows humane rat euthanasia (for when the time comes) and is well versed in their care. I am just trying to be prepared. I'm also hoping it is a vet with reasonable fees.
Thank you!

Hi! I'm in Dayton so I'm kind of close. I interviewed (pestered) A bunch of vets around here and honestly ended up having to drive out to Troy Animal Hospital and Bird Clinic with my rats. Part of that decision was honestly fees, because several vets wanted 200$ per rat for a basic exam, which... was kind of insane. But also once we met the vets in Troy they were just instantly trusted. They really seemed to care. I know this is far for you so I suggest doing what I did and pester a million vets. Most accept emails now so I made a form email and sent it each office asking them a few basics.

There's a rescue group in the Cincinnati area called Rattie Tattie Rescue. You may be able email them for recommendations or join their facebook group and reach out directly to other local rat owners.
Thank you, but I had a Very, Very negative experience with them and I don't want to talk to them at all. However, I do appreciate your time to respond.
I'm not even sure they are around anymore. They didn't pop up this time when I searched for rat rescues.
