So my rat over the past two and a half weeks has been gaining weight(firm around the tummy and rounded, felt like a pregnancy to me) and I got worried that I may have accidentally placed her with a male, but couldn't think of a time that that could have happened. But I do have memory problems so I couldn't take my own word for it. Today she lost a lot of weight and look thinner, so it's like oh did she give birth? No babies anywhere in the cage, not even a blood patch. No evidence anywhere, other than her weight loss, that she had given birth. Today she's a lot more active than she has been the past two and a half weeks and she's having and intense heat, I can't even pet her.
I've never had this happen before and I was wondering if false pregnancies happen in rats. I know it can happen in dogs, but I've never heard about it with rats.

It seems like that is what happened, a False Pregnancy, but she could have also had some sort of obstruction....?

No, when a ton her out of the cage for okay time she's poop a bunch which is normal for her.

Yeah, rats can have false pregnancies (aka pseudopregnancies)
