Just a fun thread :) What are your rats' favorite treats, the ones they go bonkers for?

My rat loves plain Cheerios. She gets super excited when she hears the Cheerios rattling in the container I keep them in. I typically give her one to eat right away and then hide the rest in her dig box. It's fun watching her excitedly dig around to find the Cheerios and gobble each one as she finds them :D Then she runs around the cage looking for more 😄 She doesn't get as excited with other treats: uncooked oatmeal, no salt sunflower seeds with the shell on, peas.

My rats love uncooked steel cut oats, broccoli, apple, in shell pumpkin seeds and the occasional cooked bone. Also everyone loves carrot, except Radish. She will actually curl her lips and back away if I try to offer it to her. Lol I dunno why she dislikes it so much!

😅I have found my rats to be that way with apple.....they literally fling it away as far as they can and look at me with disgust as if to say “ how dare you offer me such swill”,raw carrot they love and it is a pleasure to see them lick their lips over a succulent piece of melon, watermelon is a favourite

Maybe my current boy is an oddball, but he adores steamed cauliflower and steamed kabocha squash. And of course he loves avocado…and he is a FIEND for malt paste on anything, though that is super limited due to sugar. He enjoys frozen peas (thawed out), corn on the cob (but not if it’s been frozen), most any kind of can beaned (well rinsed), and seeds as long as they are in the shell (he doesn’t care for them unless he has to work for them, apparently). Unlike all my other rats, he’s never much cared for steamed sweet potato or Cheerios. And he likes real yogurt with a touch of honey but doesn’t like dried yogurt treats. And the occasional miniature extra-dark chocolate chip is never snubbed.

Eureka and Gami are big fans of "human foods"!! Chicken nuggets, white rice, and scrambled egg are top-tier for them (as treats). Interestingly, they don't care for sugar and fruits at all.

My boys also hate sweets. When I first got them I tried the yogurt drops and I still have the same bag, 6 months later lol. They don’t eat fruit of any kind either
